Butterfly Creative Process
I began this piece by making a wire frame of a butterfly. It can sometimes take several attempts. I finally made a frame that I was content with. Once I completed reinforcing the frame I began working on the stained glass to fit the frame. It was a very tedious step in the process.
The next step can be painful. Cutting the stained glass to fit the frame took quite a bit of time and patience. Oh, and several bandaids! Once all the the glass was cut, I had to drill three holes in each piece of glass, while shaping and smoothing our each piece as I go. Kind of like how God shapes and molds us to do what He created each of us for. God gives us all great and unique talents. When we put Him first, He provides endless opportunities for us to use our abilities for His glory.
The next step is my favorite part... starting to finally finish this project. Wiring the glass peices into the wire frame! I had to drill 90 holes to be able to do so.
One side of the glass is purple and the other side is a tempered rainbow iridescent that changes with lighting. The other glass is a transparent champagne pink.
Similarly, God sees through us. He sees our dull colors and our vibrant ever-changing colors! Some people only see the dull colors. Others see past our dullness and always look for our vibrant colors. Some are always transparent with there lives no matter who is watching.
God wants us to be ourselves and not hide the beauty that He has created each of us for; His glory and for the world to see. We should all strive to be ourselves no matter who is watching.
